If you’re dreaming of eloping in Jackson Hole or inside the breathtaking Grand Teton National Park, one of the first questions you’ll probably ask is “When is the best time to elope?”

The truth is — every season here brings something unbelievably beautiful. You simply get to choose the mood you want for your day.

As a local Jackson Hole photographer, here’s my honest guide to what each month feels like, looks like, and photographs like… so you can choose the season that fits your vision perfectly.

June – Wildflowers & Soft Early-Summer Greens

June is when everything feels fresh.

The valleys fill with wildflowers, the mountains finally turn blue again, and the days are warm but not too hot. Snow is still visible on the peaks — which looks incredible in photos.

Best for:

✔ Fairytale meadows

✔ Wildflower elopements

✔ Soft, dreamy colors

✔ Cooler temperatures

If you want that magical “June in the Tetons” feeling, this is your month.

July – Crystal Clear Mountain Peaks

July is famous here for a reason.

The weather is the most reliable, the skies stay clear, and the mountains are sharp and bold in every direction.

Best for:

✔ Iconic Teton views

✔ Lakeside elopements at Jenny Lake or String Lake

✔ Golden sunlight with zero haze

✔ Warm evenings

This is the safest choice if you want bright, classic Jackson Hole photos.

August – Warm Light & Cinematic Tones

August gives you that golden, cinematic glow.

The grass starts turning warm and golden, sunsets get softer, and the crowds begin to thin (just a little!).

Best for:

✔ Warm, golden tones

✔ Romantic, glowing evenings

✔ Fields that look like a movie scene

✔ Still-warm weather

This is my personal favorite for warm, rich photos.

September – Peak Fall Color

If you want color — September is magic.

Aspen trees turn gold, cottonwoods glow orange, and the Tetons look unreal surrounded by fall color.

Best for:

✔ Fall foliage

✔ Cool mornings + warm afternoons

✔ Moody, romantic vibes

✔ Elopements with sweaters, hats, and textures

It’s the busiest month for photographers for a reason. It’s stunning.

October – Moody, Cool Tones

October is often overlooked — but it is breathtaking.

The mountains get a dusting of snow, the air turns crisp, and the colors shift into soft browns, creams, and blues.

Best for:

✔ Moody, cinematic photos

✔ Empty locations (no crowds!)

✔ Snow-dusted mountain peaks

✔ Cozy jackets, boots, and fall textures

If you want your photos to feel timeless and quiet… October is for you.

So… What’s the Best Time to Elope in Jackson Hole?

Honestly — there’s no wrong choice.

Each month brings something completely different, and that’s what makes this place so magical.

But here’s my quick cheat-sheet:

  • June: wildflowers + soft greens
  • July: clear mountain peaks + perfect weather
  • August: golden light + warm tones
  • September: fall colors + dreamy glowing trees
  • October: moody, mountain-dusted magic

Whatever season you choose, the Tetons will be beautiful — and I would love to help you plan every detail.
